13 Questions with Tom Rogan – no socks in bed!

Ahead of his O2 gig this month, we caught up with Tom Rogan to find out what he’s doing.

Tom Rogan is a singer songwriter from Liverpool, at just 20 years old in 2021 he became one of the country’s most successful rising artists capturing the attention of the music industry across the world.

‘Here We Are (feat. Chris Grant)’ his debut single release was a UK top 40 hit. See below.

This was unheard of for an unsigned artist in the UK to achieve and his chart success did not go unnoticed.

Tom has released another 3 singles this year so far.

More music is coming soon, and Tom is currently booking shows across the UK for 2022, including a stop at O2 Academy, Liverpool on the 23^rd July.

We fired off the usual 13 Qs:

Where are you and what are you doing?

Right now I am in Tenerife, on a bus to somewhere I don’t know to get a McDonald’s.

What is your favourite view?

Everton Parks “The View” looking down across the city towards the docks. Lovely place to sit at day or night.

What is your favourite swear word and why?

My favourite swear word is probably fuckoff. This is universal in every sentence I make. It can be used aggressively or in a nice manner. Usually saying it by accident as 99% of my vocal is swear words anyway.

What was the first record / cd you bought with your own money?

My first record I bought with my own money was a Catfish and the bottlemen “The Balcony” Vinyl. My first CD was the “With the Beatles” CD.

Never

If you could go to a gig right now, anywhere in the world, which band would you see? And in which venue?

I don’t care what venue at all, it could be in a pub in breck road for all I care. The person I would want to see would be Paul McCartney. He’s my idol and my biggest inspiration. I love him.

Who are your musical influences?

As said above, Paul McCartney but other artists and bands such as Oasis, The Beatles, Arctic Monkeys, The Libertines, Jake Bugg, Stone Roses.

How do you like your eggs?

Scrambled, little bit burnt with cheese and ham. Love eggs me.

Tell us something we don’t know.

I’m left handed but play the guitar with my right.

Which city do you recommend we visit – and why?

Krakow, Poland. Unbelievable place for people who love history, but also great for people who just want to get away for cheap. Ice cream is also boss over there and the Fanta Smak (Orange) is to die for.
