There’s always a given at Oyé. And it’s the cherry picker.

We have eulogised about Africa Oyé on countless occasions. It’s pretty much the best music thing Liverpool does. There are lots of band photos doing the rounds – we have plenty as well that may get up here later.

But we chose to get up high. These guys are stars along with all the other organisers, PR and back of stage.

But, even the cherry picker guy wouldn’t go all the way up. He had a hand held wind meter. It can’t go above 12. He made us come down at 11.5. We’ll confess to being not entirely disappointed.

It was fun, though.
