Tramlines Festival Announces Second Wave Of 2022 Artists Including Full Comedy Programme

Tramlines is back for 2022 with another strong line-up that looks set to light up Hillsborough Park. Amos Wynn has the lowdown.

Tramlines, Sheffield’s biggest city-based music festival has announced its latest round of music acts and the full comedy lineup for the 2022 event at Hillsborough Park in Sheffield from Friday 22nd to Sunday 24th July.

The festival made its triumphant return last summer, and truly restored normality for the South Yorkshire gig-goers.

After a long period of lockdowns and restrictions, it felt like heaven being back in a field listening to live music, and everything else that comes with it.

This year year’s event looks even stronger. Over five stages of music, a family friendly area and a genre-spanning lineup of performers including everyone from internationally acclaimed acts to grass roots talent.

2022 will mark the 13th edition of Sheffield’s Biggest Party.

The Friday is already sold-out, and for good reason, with the superb Sam Fender leading the line.

Since releasing his debut album three lockdowns ago, the Geordie musician has from strength to strength.

He certainly upped his game with his follow up LP, and his energy makes him a pure delight to watch live.

Saturday produces another strong headliner, with Kasabian at the top of the bill.

The band made their return last year with Serge Pizzorno leading them.

With over 15 year’s worth of indie anthems in their locker, they’ll no doubt get Tramlines bouncing.

They are joined by some other top acts on the middle day, including The Vaccines, Inhaler and Sheffield’s very own Sheafs

Sunday welcomes another act from the Steel City, with Reverend and the Makers returning to the festival.

They are followed by the superb Wombats, before Madness brings things to a close, which promises to be superb.

Of course, it’s not just music on display throughout the weekend, with Russell Kane and Jason Manford among the comedians.

There are still some day tickets available, but be quick. Ticket info – here.
