Ian Prowse and Amsterdam finally got to bring their annual party to Liverpool’s O2, with great supports from John Bramwell and ME + Deboe.
It’s kind of become a Liverpool institution. The annual blast from Ian Prowse, bringing the full hit 13 piece Amsterdam band with him.
Clearly, last year this didn’t happen (save for a stripped down version in the Philharmonic), so the opportunity to play for a packed O2 was something of a release both for the band and the 1,200 or so faithful in the main room.
With a set list comprising most of the favourites and a few extracts from next year’s new release One Hand on the Starry Plough, this was a massive love in. Prowse always gives it everything – he never dials into his gigs. But it’s not just about the band. It’s a communal occasion and we could feel it.
Supported by the brace of class acts in the form of John Bramwell and ME + Deboe this was a proper feel good night.
