Ġenn took Future Yard by storm last night with an eclectic, but enjoyable bill supported by Beija Flo, Lazygirl and Harks.
Our first visit to Birkenhead’s new kid on the block, Future Yard and we’re impressed. This is a venue that’s been kicking down doors and making a name for the other side of the Mersey. Fair play, it seems to be working.
We spoke to Ġenn a while back shortly after the band should have been playing Rebellion 2020 and Birkenhead isn’t exactly Blackpool, but they gave it all they had tonight.
With wicked supports from Lazygirl’s chilled, stripped back, jazzy pop. The ever quirky, but getting more and more confident, Beija Flo who turned up with a full band. And no holds barred Harks who gave us a full on punk / psych hit.
It was a brilliant evening that had us buzzing back through the tunnel to Liverpool. We’ll be back. That’s for sure.
