Emma Tricca headlined the first of Liverpool Psychedelic Society’s Secret Gigs. More of this, please. It was tremendous.
We didn’t know for sure, but we’d had a good guess at the location for Liverpool Psychedelic Society’s first secret gig. It was a punt, of course, shelling out cash for a gig when we didn’t know who was playing.
On the other hand, that’s part of the fun.
The artist and location were revealed only on the evening of the gig and moments before the door opened. We were right about the venue, but to learn Emma Tricca was on the bill was a special surprise. With an impressive CV behind her, this was a fabulous chance to see her in such a small bar.
With great supports from Ivan Thunders (Thee Lucifer Sams) and Dom Lewington (Dominoes) this was an all round class bill.
Emma Tricca’s kind of cross between Chrissie Hynde and Patti Smith, yet understated was the perfect way to wind down a cold, wet Thursday evening.
Big respect to all involved. And the next time LPS arrange a secret gig we’ll be there, because we know already, it will be fantastic.
