Bo Ningen delivered a spectacular performance at this noise / psych double header with Lunch Money Life delivering the perfect foil.
Absolutely superb. There, how’s that for a review.
We kind of knew what to expect from Bo Ningen. And they delivered it without any compromise. District seemed like the perfect venue for them and they appeared to appreciate it, as did the crowd. The love in the room was almost a thing you could touch and feel.
From the moment we walked in with the band at the merch stall to the phone photos we took of them after the gig, it was clear Bo Ningen were fully engaged with this one. It goes without saying, they gave it everything.
Lunch Money Life were a perfect double act. Doing everything they could to upstage Bo Ningen, they gave it a decent go. All noise, screaming sax and electronic mayhem, balancing on the crush barrier and a run across the tables at the bar was impressive, even if they did nearly kick over our pint. These guys should be at a Psych Fest near you soon.
The band told us afterwards they’d enjoyed the atmosphere, the sound and the general vibe.
Well, so did we. A good fun evening from both sides of the stage. It was clear to see all involved were having a boss time. More of this, please.
